His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC CVO, Governor of Queensland, congratulates the following Queenslanders recognised today in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for their remarkable contributions to State and nation:
Associate Professor Anthony Charles LAMONT
For outstanding public service to paediatric radiology in Queensland.
Dr Lamont is a highly regarded and experienced Radiologist who has brought immense knowledge and experience to all of the hospitals that he has engaged with in the state.
He has made significant contributions to his profession and wider society in the field of Paediatric Radiology and associated research through the re-establishment of defunct Radiology departments in several hospitals, establishing a Fellowship in Paediatric Radiology (the first Radiological Fellowship in Queensland). Whilst at the Mater Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, he invented a special infant feeding device that simplified radiological investigations.
His research work and publications are very highly regarded both nationally and internationally, and he is an inspiration to young Registrars. His passion for the best possible paediatric radiology service saw the introduction of a wealth of innovative changes to improve the efficiency and capability of the service.
